Just played on the first of the scenarios this evening. I won pretty easily too, as most of the other players (as well as having less cash than me) had a tendancy to go All In when I had a Two Pair or something. I wiped four of them out in one hand! I’ve also noticed that my stats have been reset. I did have something like 700 hands played, and now I’m down to just 250-odd.
Played, and won, a whole actual tournament today. Hurrah! It seems the best thing to do is just chip away slowly, waiting patiently until you get a good hand and then start betting slow (or everyone folds) and then hook a fish and reel him in. Or something.

This is what I was downloading when playing Pac-Man earlier. For today and tomorrow, Microsoft are giving it away for free. Aces! It’s pretty good too, if a little hard on the eyes. Played a few of them, but not for very long each, so I’m listing them all together. Firstly, I played Uno online for a few rounds, and almost won one of the rounds when someone joined and instantly won the entire round with 341 points on a single hand. Gah. With the new HDTV, it was time to try out some of the XBLA games and see how different they looked. Texas Hold’em was now actually readable, which is nice, and Geometry Wars is, well, bigger. And seemingly more colourful too. Frogger is just the same, only sharper, and Hexic HD is much easier on the eye.
I’m back in the black! About $10,000 back in the black, in fact. I spent some of my Texas Hold’em winnings on bumping up my stats.
Hooray! I’ve started making money now, and even paid off $5000 of my loan! “Texas Hold’em” seems to be my best variation at the moment, and I’ve found that if my two dealt cards are not a pair, then I just fold. If they are, then I bet high, and after The Turn if I have a three-of-a-kind or two pairs, then bet really high – if not, “check” and hope 🙂 I have -$9000 now, which isn’t bad considering …
